Vegan Fried “Chicken”
Deep Fry Method
Ingredients
1 package of Morning Star Chicken Starters
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 cup nutritional yeast (optional)
2 tbsp baking powder
1/2 cup soy or other vegan alternative milk
1 cup oil for frying - You can bake by lightly dipping in oil or spraying and placing on baking sheet
Directions
Heat oil in deep fryer, pan, or pot. Do not heat oil on too high heat because your chicken pieces may burn. A medium to high heat is fine.
Mix together flour, baking powder, and seasonings. Dip chicken pieces in milk, then in seasoned flour mix. Place in pan and fry each piece for about 3 to 5 minutes turning once until golden brown. Drain on paper towel and serve.

This can also be made with Worthington Chickettes (www.worthingtonfoods.com). I usually fry the chickettes and put them on a salad.
