Rethinking the site, broadening the scope

Sunday Feb 22, 2009

It’s taken a bit of time to rethink the direction of Vegan Family Living, but we certainly hope that you find the changes refreshing and even more informative.  The very name has resulted in three major areas of focus.

1.  Vegan — continued emphasis on the balanced vegan approach to diet, and the resulting benefits from sustainable angle.  There are many supplements available for many deficiencies, but a proper approach and dedication to a balanced diet should yield an abundance of health benefits.

2.  Family — the welfare, education, socialization, and example of a well-balanced family is the focus of this area.  The same principles that foster concern for diet will be applied to the well-being, education, socialization of our families as well as the positive impressions that the vegan family approach can make in our communities.

3.  Living — while diet is important, our lives involve far more time and energy than is spent around the dinner table.  We have been enlisting contributors that will share their experiences of improved diet and lifestyles while combating real life health issues.  Also we’re soliciting input about the family lifestyles and activities of vegan families that encourage and support us and others as we add to our understanding of ecologically responsible living.  The more we adopt a holistic approach, the more others will understand and appreciate our choices of lifestyle (from the garden to the home).

Please feel free to send us your ideas and concerns as we continue to grow the site.
