If you are a frequent visitor of the Vegan Family Living Network or if you or just stopping by for the first time, I want to tell you about a cool new idea I had.
So many people are interested in learning more about becoming a vegan. I have been thinking about this and I spoke to Rupert about how to share more. How do we get people to see how we live as a vegan family? How do we get people to see things from a vegan perspective?
Ok, may that last question was a bit over the top, but I think you get the picture.
How do we do it?
The best way to learn about something is to experience it. The best teacher in life is not a person, but it is experience. A teacher can tell you what is in a book, but until you apply it you really never get it.
Rupert and I can talk to you about veganism until you are blue in the face, but until you try it you really won’t get it.
With that said, we want to invite you to join us for the first of many Go Vegan For a Day here at Vegan Family Living. Each month we will choose a week to challenge the skeptics, the curious, and the brave to change their eating habits for one day and share it with us.
Here is more information on the challenge
I have added a few more recipes this week for you to try out. That way you have come variety to choose from. If you decide to sign up then you will also get one free vegan recipe per day in your email box.
You can even choose to take the challenge a little further and use all natural products in your home for a day. Or hey why not go out and purchase some organic clothing.
However far you choose to take the challenge, just take it!
Rupert and I will invite the most interesting challengers to be interviewed. Your interview will appear here on the Vegan Family Living site. We will also invite one challenger to write about their experience and do a brief segment for our soon to come Vegan Family Living podcast.

I just signed up for the challenge. I also wanted to let you know that I left a comment including your website on another site, Get Rich Slowly. They are discussing Eating Vegetarian on the Cheap. The link to them is http://www.getrichslowly.org/blog/2007/02/02/how-to-eat-vegetarian-on-the-cheap/
Thanks for your great new site.

I did my challenge on Sunday, the 11th. I had been trying the previous days…until I realized that vegans do not use honey( oops!). I ate alot of fresh fruit and fruit juices and salads during the day. I can see eating vegetarian, but I was struggling on what to put in my tea and coffee with no white sugar (try not to use refined as much as possible) and no honey. Will definitely try to eat vegan at least once a week now.

Honey is ok to eat. Yes, there are many vegans who do not eat honey because they believe that bees are treated unfairly. That is fine for them, but we eat honey as do many other vegans I know.
It is a touchy subject in the vegan realm, but I because I became vegan for reasons other than animal cruelty, I am not bothered by honey eating at all. Now, that is not to say I agree with animal cruelty…because I do not. So please those reading this comment, don’t send me a millions emails saying I am cruel to animals because I eat honey.
Honey was given to us by God to enjoy and eat. So I do and will. I also use other sweetners like stevia.
Be sure to look for the Natural Sweetners fact sheet and newsletter in the near future.
Thanks for taking the challenge
