Vegan News and Resources

I am a snack person but I also know that many snacks are just not healthy for us. Especially for the vegan. I will be the first to admit that I have not always eaten healthy snacks since I have taken my vegan journey more seriously. However, I have learned a lot about snacking healthier and I have been on a quest to find good tasty snacks that are not bad for you.

This Friday I want to share a few great finds I came across on Twitter. Do you twitter? If you don’t you should and if you do add me at http://twitter.com/latarahamying because I would love to have you as a friends.

The Natural Mom talks about how going green saves you money. The tips are awesome and there is so much to learn. You read the article here.

I love reading the Crunchy Domestic Goddess and this week she is talking about the Magic Stick. Wondering what it is? Well if you are a mom you will want to know so read more here.

There are many grocery stores that sell vegan foods. Major chains in
every town should have a selection. If you are a part of the lucky ones
who have a Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, or other health food stores then
you can definitely find many vegan foods. Other stores to purchase
vegan foods from that we are all familiar with are Target and WalMart.

Also note that there are many foods that are vegan and don’t say vegan.
So when you say “vegan foods” it carries a broad meaning. Of course
fruits and vegetables are vegan. You also have items like rice, pasta,
peanut butter, jelly, canned and dry beans, oatmeal, grits, cookies,
chips, breads, crackers, soups, and many other foods you find in the
grocery store.

Perhaps you stopped by looking for this week’s podcast, but it was not there. Don’t be upset; I have a good reason. REALLY!

For the past few months I have been going back and forth with the idea of starting a membership site. I said yes because of the opportunities for growth it would afford those who joined. I said no because I was just plain being a COWARD!

I kept saying it won’t work and that I can’t pull it off. Don’t you know that the worse enemy you have is the one staring you right in the mirror.

Today instead of writing a long post about Earth Day, I thought it would be fun to let you hop the net and see what some of my friends are saying or doing for Earth Day. I am also sharing information about some really cool resources.

The Household Helper, Cara Mirabella is talking about Earth Day Resolutions. Her number one suggestion is to simply make the change and I couldn’t agree more. Over at the Skimbaco blog, she is sharing 10 Easy Ways to Save the Earth.
