They say that their list of to do things for the weekend include locating colostrum, infant probiotics, and a non-dairy formula. We are glad to be able to provide them some assistance this weekend in demonstrating how to make a variety of fresh baby foods.

Interestingly, the grandfather’s paternal grandmother was a vegetarian and he’s beginning to lean that way. Never too late. This story may take a number of interesting turns.

We have begun following a lovely set of premature twins who currently are experiencing some digestive and immune function deficiencies. The parent and grandparents have approached the doctors for answers but have not seen the results they desire. The babies were not breastfed. They have been challenged to make the following changes to the children’s dietary regimine in a effort to improve their overall health.

1. No further foods containing animal products (meat and/or dairy).

2. Introduce cholostrum into their diet

3. Introduce infant probiotics into their diet.

4. Make baby food fresh instead of purchasing canned products.

5. Switch to a non-dairy infant formula.

If they accept the challenge, which we hope that they will, we will chart their progress and hopefully encourage them to participate in an upcoming podcast.

One of the most difficult thing for most transitioning vegans is the question of “how do I feed my vegan child?” This brings to mind so many other questions and soon a parent can find themselves confused and trying to figure it all out.

I know well the issue because I was there. My oldest son was 10 when got married and I grew very weary of a vegan diet for a growing boy who was near his pre-teen years and would soon start developing into a man with hormones and all other sorts of stuff going on. He would need to be as healthy as possible when those Super growth years hit.

It was the same for my youngest when he was born. I wondered what would he miss out on nutritionally? How would his brain develop? Would he grow up at a slower rate than other children as some scientist say.

So, as a concerned mom, I started on my journey towards gaining all the information I could about feeding the vegan child. The more I learned, adjusted, and changed what needed to be changed in order to assure that my kids would be healthy, the more confident I grew.

When I started Vegan Family Living a year ago, I had no idea what it would bring. I just know I wanted to educate people and provide content based on all the great information and research I discovered. I also wanted to invite other experts to share their knowledge.

I met a young lady named Joana Duran. A registered nurse and a Practitioner, Joana’s concentration was vegan kids. As a vegan she understood the importance of teaching and training vegan parents how to make sure their children get all the nutrition they need. With all of her knowledge, I just had to have Joana join us for our Summer Seminar series.

Feeding the Vegan Child was not only the number one attended seminar, but it was also the number one requested one.

Here at Vegan Family Living we decided to create an information packet for Feeding the Vegan Child and offer it to our subscribers, friends, and visitors. It was a hit! So this month, since we are having December Dollar days, I figured why not allow others to grab this great product for only a buck.

So if you are a parent, grandparent, transitioning vegan, new vegan, or a person seeking more information on how to feed the vegan child, then you need to grab this product now while it is only a $1.

Today is your chance because this month is soon to be history and so is this very cool offer.

Sometimes it is a challenge for our children to be vegan in a non-vegan environment. Their friends may tease because they do not get the way your child eats. Or when your child goes over a friend’s house for a sleep over it may be difficult for another parent to understand the needs of your child.

These menus are just samples of what you can feed a vegan child and his non-vegans friends. Share these menus with non-vegan parents who may be responsible for feeding your child. Use them to feed your child’s non-vegan friends.

They will love them because they are fun and good. You will love them because they are healthy. Your child will love them because they make him feel like he can be included.

You can find two other menus for lunch and dinner here on the Vegan Family Living site.
