Can You Veganize Soul Food?

People often ask me if I can veganize the soul food I grew up as child. That answer to that is a loud resounding YES! I love soul food but so do my hips, butt, and thighs. And my cholesterol used to get a high off of that yummy cuisine too. So practicing a mostly vegan diet has been a real treat for me because I can make my favorite soul food meals low fat and cholesterol free.
What to Tell Your Family When You Want To Transition
If your family did not reach the conclusion to become vegan by unanimous vote then you may have to do some convincing. Then again maybe not! Whatever the situation here are a few reasons to share with your family why going vegan is good.
1. You will save money. Replacing meat with more vegetables and fruit is estimated to cut food bills by an average of $4,000 a year. That’s a family vacation a year or some other type of fun.
Remove the Junk Now
Does your family snack too much on junky foods? Are you ready to clean your pantry of all the junk that sits in wait for you to consume it and fill your body with toxic ingredients like sugar and salt. In determining what needs to go you have to take the time to look into the pantry and find all foods that are processed, hydrogenated, and artificial and even some things that have a long shelf life.
